• • Metastases (breast, prostate, lung, kidney, thyroid) are far commoner than primary bone tumours.
• • Osteosarcoma - adolescents, around the knee, sunburst or Codman triangle on X-ray.
• • Ewing sarcoma - children, onion-skin periosteal reaction; giant cell tumour - epiphysis, soap-bubble.
• • Persistent bone pain, night pain or a mass needs imaging and biopsy.
