How does the Bohr effect actually help tissue oxygenation?
I understand the curve shifts right, but what's the physiological point?

Active tissues produce CO2 and H+, lowering pH. This right-shifts the O2-Hb curve so haemoglobin releases more oxygen exactly where metabolic demand is highest.
