How to differentiate a transudate from an exudate (Light's criteria)?
Pleural effusion workup keeps confusing me.

Exudate if any of: pleural/serum protein > 0.5, pleural/serum LDH > 0.6, or pleural LDH > two-thirds the upper normal serum LDH. Otherwise it's a transudate.
