A seizure with fever in a young child (6 months–5 years) without CNS infection or another cause. It is usually benign, but exclude serious causes and support the family.
Children aged 6 months–5 years (peak ~12–18 months), often with a family history; triggered by fever from a common viral illness.
Comfort (do not prevent recurrence)
Seizure ≥5 minutes
Caution: Exclude meningitis in the unwell or very young child; no routine prophylaxis.
