A low blood glucose (typically <70 mg/dL / <4 mmol/L) with autonomic and neuroglycopenic symptoms — a treatable emergency, especially on insulin or sulfonylureas.
People on insulin or sulfonylureas (missed meals, exercise, dosing error); also alcohol, sepsis, liver/adrenal failure and, rarely, insulinoma.
Conscious hypoglycaemia

No IV access
Caution: Less effective if malnourished, alcohol-related, or sulfonylurea-induced — still give glucose.
