The reasoning: two units of care
Clinical medicine's unit is the individual: diagnose, treat, follow up. Community Medicine's unit is the population, a defined group (a lane, a block, all pregnant women in a district) whose health is shaped by shared exposures and shared services. The two are complementary. Each clinical case is also a data point (Count) and a signal about a shared determinant (Cause).
