A malnourished 2‑year‑old who missed his vaccines gets measles. The rash fades, but he develops pneumonia and diarrhoea, loses weight, and goes blind in one eye from vitamin A deficiency. Measles doesn't just cause a rash: it weakens the immune system for months. Two doses of MR vaccine would have prevented all of this.
