Aplastic anaemia is marrow failure with hypocellularity after excluding hypocellular MDS, leukaemia, PNH, infection, drugs/toxins and inherited marrow-failure syndromes. The reticulocyte count is low; splenomegaly should push you toward another diagnosis.
