The reasoning: platelets must stick, activate and aggregate
Platelet function fails at different steps. VWF-GPIb mediates adhesion to subendothelium; GPIIb/IIIa binds fibrinogen to aggregate platelets. Activation pathways amplify the plug and are blocked by common antiplatelet drugs.
