Shenton's line: inferior border of the superior pubic ramus → medial border of the femoral neck; disrupted in displaced neck fractures and dislocations. Also check symmetry of the trochanters, trabecular continuity, cortical buckling (impacted fractures), and the lesser trochanter (avulsion in adolescents; pathological in adults: metastasis).
