In real life
A motorcyclist thrown at high speed remains in a coma, yet his CT shows only a couple of tiny white dots. MRI with SWI reveals dozens of black spots at the grey–white junction, in the corpus callosum and in the brainstem: diffuse axonal injury. It explains his coma and predicts a long recovery.
