In a battery‑recycling unit, a worker develops abdominal pain, weakness in his wrists and anaemia. His children, who play near the unit, are slow in school. Blood tests show high lead levels in the whole family. Lead dust from his clothes and the factory has poisoned his home. Changing clothes before going home, showering at work and dust control protect families too.
