Two surveys estimate the same district's immunisation coverage. Survey A: 80% (95% CI 78–82%). Survey B: 80% (95% CI 60–100%). The average is the same, but you'd trust Survey A far more. It was bigger and more precise. The CI shows you that instantly; a single number never could.
