In real life
As children grow older, their height increases: a strong positive correlation. Using regression, a paediatrician can predict a child's expected height from their age. But ice‑cream sales and drowning deaths also correlate positively. Ice cream doesn't cause drowning; hot weather increases both. Correlation is not causation.
