In real life
A 6‑year‑old is bitten on the face by a stray dog. His mother washes the wound thoroughly under running water with soap for 15 minutes and rushes him to the PHC. Because the bite is on the face and drew blood, he receives rabies immunoglobulin injected into and around the wound, and the first dose of rabies vaccine. He completes all doses and stays healthy. A child in the next village, whose bite was treated with chilli powder and a local healer, did not survive.
