The simple idea
ALL is a cancer of immature lymphoid cells, usually B-lineage or T-lineage. It is common in children but can occur at any age. It can cause marrow failure, bone pain, enlarged nodes or liver and spleen, and sometimes a mediastinal mass in T-ALL. Treatment is organised in phases and includes protection of sanctuary sites such as the CNS.
