Waldenström macroglobulinaemia is a lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma that makes IgM. The IgM can make blood thick, causing headache, blurred vision, confusion, bleeding or heart strain. Symptomatic hyperviscosity is treated urgently with plasma exchange plus therapy against the clone.
