Systematic approach
- Identify the study: patient, date, region, non‑contrast vs contrast (aorta/renal cortex bright = post‑contrast), phase (arterial: bright aorta, corticomedullary kidneys, minimal portal enhancement; portal venous: homogeneous liver, portal veins bright; delayed/excretory: contrast in collecting systems), oral contrast.
- Windows: soft tissue/abdomen, lung, bone, liver (narrow), CTA.
- History → region → organ → lesion → density → diagnosis (source protocol), plus a fixed organ checklist (liver, GB/biliary, pancreas, spleen, adrenals, kidneys/ureters, bladder, reproductive organs, bowel and mesentery, peritoneum, vessels, nodes, abdominal wall, lung bases, bones).
