At the anganwadi, the worker weighs a 14‑month‑old and plots the dot on the MCP card. Last month's dot and this month's dot are at the same level: the growth line has flattened. The child looks fine, but the flat line is an early warning. She talks with the mother about feeding and finds the child has had repeated diarrhoea. A flat line was spotted before the child became visibly thin.
