The simple idea
In AML, immature myeloid cells multiply but do not mature properly. They crowd the bone marrow, so normal red cells, neutrophils and platelets fall. The patient may feel tired from anaemia, get fever or infection from low useful neutrophils, and bleed from low platelets.
